Archive: Beeswax for the first day is now on sale at the store in Austin’s Old City

Beeswax will now be available online through Amazon and other retailers. No longer is Beeswax a product for anyone or even for a single hobbyist. Beeswax was created by artist and writer Jonathan Maitland, who created his unique concept of a beewax-tipped brush and his personal story about how he made it. Now it’s up for sale at Etsy stores, at flea markets, and all over the web. Read on for the photos of this custom painted brush.

The brush will be available through Amazon and other retailers. It’s a limited edition (1,000).

Maitland took inspiration from other crafty beeswax artists on canvas because they are easy to identify with. He paints in a way to take on a larger character with small, clean lines.

„I found that a lot of people don’t understand it, the word ‘beewax’ is a word for something not defined by human beings, so it’s pretty much written like this: if you have to put something in between a brush and a piece of canvas it doesn’t create the kind of character you get when you paint without the brush.”
